Visit to SITAEL and ASI  – Mola di Bari

I had the incredible opportunity to visit SITAEL (And ASI - Matera) in Mola di Bari! This innovative space hub is fully dedicated to advanced space applications, where satellites are designed, manufactured, and assembled entirely in-house. Their facilities span across multiple specialized departments, including proprietary electric propulsion systems.

From the storage of satellite components to the sophisticated testing areas, every detail is engineered for mission success. It was inspiring to see how both Italian and European space programs are closely connected to this laboratory.

A heartfelt thank you to Mario De Stefano and the entire SITAEL team for the warm welcome and for taking the time to show me around their impressive facilities. Visiting the offices, the electronics manufacturing lab, and especially the clean room—where satellites take shape—was truly special. I’ve admired such places in photos for years, but seeing it in person was even more fascinating.
