How My Social Skills Landed Me Inside Europe’s Mission Control? hahah
Luckily, I’ve always had a knack for socializing, and that 'gift of gab' turned into an incredible opportunity to visit the European Space Operations Centre more than once.
While I have plenty of photos of the iconic exterior and the main buildings, the real magic happened in the laboratories and control rooms. Of course, those areas are strictly 'No Photos Allowed' (space secrets, you know!),
First stop: the Operations Center. If you’ve ever seen a space blockbuster and thought, 'I want to be in that room,' this is it. It has all the 'big screen' energy of NASA, but with a distinct European flair. Honestly? The reality is even cooler than the movies
Second stop: the Deep Space Mission Control Room for the planetary mission (no photos inside). This is where ESA tracks interplanetary missions, and honestly? With all those flickering screens and complex data, I’m 99% sure they’re secretly chatting with aliens! 👽 Space secrets are definitely being kept in this room.
Fun fact, Darmstadt is actually the twin city of my hometown, Brescia
