After I finished building the drone, it worked perfectly at first. I started flying it, and the FPV performance was really smooth, fast, and just fantastic overall. But after about 10 hours of flight time, I started noticing an issue. Whenever I pushed the throttle above about 40%, the drone would go a bit crazy. I have some videos showing this behavior.
I initially focused on the ESCs, since they control the motors, and I checked the firmware and different PID settings, trying to figure out what was going on. I even tried a new radio setup, but the problem persisted.
After spending what felt like 30 or 40 hours troubleshooting—basically like a full-time job—I finally discovered that the problem wasn’t with the ESCs or the firmware at all. It turned out the VTX (the video transmitter) was broken and was sending some kind of crazy signal that ended up confusing the flight controller and making the drone behave erratically.
It was a big learning experience for me, and I definitely learned a lot from it
